MOUNT VERNON — Brenda Ball Shelly passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 3, 2016, surrounded by friends and family. She was born Aug. 19, 1960, the daughter of Joan Rodehaver Ball and Willard Reed Ball. She graduated from Mount Vernon Senior High School in 1978.

Brenda worked for many years as a multi-million dollar, top producer real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Pacesetter Steel. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the time she spent with her family as well as playing tennis, shopping, cooking, baking and traveling. She was a dedicated, hard-working person and a loving mother. She always made time for those she cared for and made sure they always knew how much they were loved.

Her parents, Joan and Willard Ball, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Shelly; children, Andrea Ruchlewicz and husband, Brian Ruchlewicz, Christina Shelly; and brother, Rob (Robin) Ball.
