DANVILLE — As the year comes to a close, members of the Danville Village Council looked ahead to 2017.
During its meeting Monday, council members passed as emergency measures an ordinance to set the salaries of village employees and elected offices as well as one that set temporary appropriations through March of 2017.

In its salary ordinance, council approved a 2 percent raise for the clerk-treasurer position ($21,640.32 per year), as well as the deputy clerk ($13.68 per hour), police sergeant ($16.63 per hour), police patrolman ($14.86 per hour), maintenance foreman ($14.03 per hour) and village solicitor ($107.10 per hour).

The chief of police’s salary will remain at $25.34 per hour, while the village administrator will continue to receive $40,177.80 per year. The pay for the mayor ($5,000 per year) and council members ($75 per meeting) will also stay the same.
