Virgil Shipley/News Expansion at The People’s Bank at 11423 Upper Gilchrist Road was celebrated Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. The People’s Bank recently took over one suite in their existing building and have remodeled for the addition of a new loan office and three processing stations. A move into the new office is planned in the near future. Instead of cutting a ribbon, bills, totaling $250 were taped together. Pictured at Friday’s ribbon cutting are Deb Kirk, chamber ambassador; Jean Coe, vice president lending; Deanna Johnson, bank manager; Joan Jones, president and CFO, cutting the bills; Alicia Freeman, president, FRC; Paul Wreede, CEO; Amy Boyd, commercial lending; and Michael Percy, chamber ambassador. The money will go to United Way.
