MOUNT VERNON — A new central control system for the Knox County Jail will replace equipment that is 15 years old.

The Knox County Commissioners Thursday reviewed bids for a new central control system at the jail with Sheriff David Shaffer and Jail Assistant Administrator Ed Johnson. In reviewing six bids, which range from $107,500 up to $259,300, Johnson recommended going with Stanley Security, the second lowest bidder.
