CHESTERVILLE — Byrdella May Evans, 87, of Chesterville, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at her home. Byrdella was born May 14, 1929, in Ankenytown, to Floyd and Ollie (Martin) Swank and had spent her lifetime in Knox and Morrow counties.

She was a member of the Chesterville United Methodist Church and had been a member of Ann Hill Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Fredericktown and the Fredericktown Mothers Club. She had also served as a volunteer for Interchurch Social Services and was past president of the Fredericktown Red Hatters.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Dale Evans; her son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Heather Evans of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Amber Evans Wiggins (Reise), Taylor Evans, Lauren Snyder and Justin Snyder; a great-grandson, Cooper Wiggins; and her sister, Ruth Truex of Mount Vernon. Besides her parents, Byrdella was preceded in death by brothers, Harry Swank and John D. Swank, and sisters, Eileen Swank, Gladys Tyson, Joan Schwartz, Levona Porter and Martha Amsbaugh.
Friends may call Monday, from 4-6 p.m., at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jeanne Winter and Pastor Dan Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
