MOUNT VERNON — Things are looking bright again for one of the most dominant local manufacturing companies.

Ariel Corp., the world’s largest manufacturer of reciprocating gas compressors, has faced some tough times over the last couple of years thanks to a down-turn in the industry. She credits the move from coal to cleaner natural gas as one of the major factors in the swing.
