MOUNT VERNON — Another year of excellence in real estate sales in Knox County was celebrated Thursday evening at the annual Christmas dinner and awards ceremony with the Knox County Board of Realtors at the Glenn A. Gallagher Event and Conference Centre.

Welcoming all to the annual awards dinner was outgoing board president Sibley Poland. Her final official business as president was to offer thanks for monetary donations and the donations of toys to the Toys For Tots drive with the Mount Vernon Fire Department.

“This means a lot to a lot of people,” said Poland, in presenting a check for $500 to Holly Bredefeld and Terry Davis, representing the MVFD. A total of 91 toys and 21 books were collected Thursday evening.

“Thank you for your support. We seem to be growing and getting more and more kids and families supplied,” said Bredefeld, who also presented the board of realtors with a certificate for the Commander’s Award from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for their continued support.
