FREDERICKTOWN — There’s nothing new about it, but having a girl on the high school wrestling squad is still a bit unusual. With no high school wrestling programs exclusively for girls, the only option for a girl is to try to get a roster spot on the boys team. This year the Fredericktown Freddies have a pair of girls on their roster.

Both girls come in at different skill levels and weight classes, but both have one thing in common — they have been made welcome by the rest of the team from Day One.

Sophomore Chylece Cluck, who wrestles in the 106-pound class, brings seven years of experience with her. She moved to Fredericktown last year, bringing a pretty solid wrestling resume. That includes a stint at Division I North Canton before coming to Fredericktown.
