UTICA — The Christmas season officially kicked off in Utica on Wednesday evening with the annual Utica Christmas Walk on Main. And each year, it seems that nobody rings in Christmas quite like the Utica community does. And while some people may have thought the weather was a bit chilly Wednesday evening, what’s Christmas without a little bit of “Jack Frost nipping at your nose?”

People came out in droves as Santa Claus arrived on a fire truck, escorted by the Utica High School boys basketball team, the girls volleyball team and the high school marching band who was playing “Jingle Bells” to announce Santa’s arrival. After being pursued by eager youngsters, Santa gave a few words of welcome to begin the Christmas Walk before making his way to his special hut where he took the Christmas wishes from all the good little girls and boys. Photos with Santa were provided by Mystic Snow Photography.
