MOUNT VERNON — Supporters of the Knox County Fair will be rewarded for their generosity when the Knox County Fair Board conducts their annual appreciation dinner. Lanning’s Foods will cater the dinner which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the dining room at the Knox County Memorial Building, 114 E. High St. The dinner is open to all in-kind and monetary sponsors of the 2016 Knox County Fair.

An auction to secure 2017 event sponsors will follow the dinner. This will be open to the general public, and everyone is invited to participate. The auction will begin at 8 p.m. also in the dining room, conducted by Jerry Scott.

Events for the 2017 Knox County Fair are as follow:
•Saturday, July 22 — harness racing at 7 p.m.
•Sunday, July 23 — brush pull at 3 p.m.
•Monday, July 24 — harness racing at 7 p.m.; moto cross at 6 p.m. (upper track)
•Tuesday, July 25 — harness racing at noon; go kart racing at 7 p.m.
•Wednesday, July 26 — rough truck at 7 p.m.
•Thursday, July 27 — figure 8 bus race/demolition derby at 6:30 p.m.
•Friday, July 28 — diesel drag race at 6 p.m.
•Saturday, July 29 — OSTPA pull at 7 p.m.
