MOUNT VERNON — Lawrence A. Snow, 93, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born March 11, 1923, in Sparta, and was the son of the late Grover and Bessie Snow.

Lawrence was a lifelong Knox County Resident. He retired from Cooper Bessemer in 1986. He attended many churches regularly. Lawrence was a member of The Ohio Harness Racing Association. He also owned and raced horses throughout his life.

He is survived by his two children, Larry (Suzie) Snow of Mount Vernon and Mary Louise (Carl) Wright of Cardington; seven grandchildren, Lawrence (Hollie) Snow; John (Connie) Snow, Denny (Jennifer) Snow, April (Jeff) Ware, Carla (Rick) Moodispaugh, Joe (Abby) Wright, Travis (April) Wright; along with 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline H. Snow; an infant daughter, Mary Ellen; and a brother, Clarence Snow.

Friends may call Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon; where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evangelist Dave Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
