MARENGO — Dustin Hess and Tim Zeller were the first ones to congratulate each other after Mount Vernon’s win Friday over Highland.

Both had good reason to celebrate. Their shots gave the Yellow Jackets their only leads of the game.

Zeller drained a 3-pointer midway through overtime for Mount Vernon’s first lead, 30-29. Then, with under 10 seconds remaining, Zeller passed to Hess, who then sank a 3 from the corner to seal the Jackets’ 32-30 win.

“I got a really good pass from Tim Zeller,” Hess said. “He set me up really well.”
