Virgil Shipley/News A backhoe operator pulled down this house in a cloud of dust without damaging the house on the right only a few feet away. The operator is Francis Shellenbarger, owner of his own excavating company, tearing down the two houses on West Gambier Street which will become a parking lot for Strang Glass Company. Shellenbarger said he first took out the opposite wall and a brick chimney, and then he tugged on the roof with the hoe bucket and the house fell in a neat pile.
