MOUNT VERNON — A meeting between the Knox County Board of Commissioners and Knox County Assistant Prosecutor Vince Villio on Thursday morning resulted in the commissioners authorizing the removal of signs placed along a county road right-of-way. The issue arose when as many as four advertising signs were placed at the corner of Waterford Road and Ridge Road west of Fredericktown. One sign has since been removed after Thursday’s meeting.

Knox County Engineer Cameron Keaton reported to the county commissioners that the signage obstructs view at these two county roads. Complaints were heard from neighboring residents about the signs, prompting letters be sent to responsible parties to have them removed. As the signs had still been seen early this week, it was time for legal action to be taken.
