MOUNT VERNON — The sixth annual Foodstock Concert to benefit the Food for the Hungry campaign will be held at the Memorial Theater, 112 E. High St., Mount Vernon, on Thursday, Dec. 8 (snow date is Monday, Dec. 12). Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m.

This year the featured acts are Chautauqua style versions of Emmy Lou Harris, Linda Ronstadt and the headline act, the Eagles. Step back to the music of the 1970’s and 1980’s Southern California sound and enjoy a program that only costs a donation of food (see for the top 10 needed items) and/or money ($1 donation equals $8 of food from the Central Ohio Food Bank).

In the past, the musicians of this area have made presentations of the Beatles, the Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul & Mary and this year chose to bring an evening of music with songs from the entire career of American’s biggest selling group of all time, the Eagles. They will perform early hits from “Take It Easy” to “Hotel California” to “The Best of My Love,” to the Eagles’ last single, “Hole in the World.”

Adding to the magic of the evening will be Emmy Lou Harris and Linda Ronstadt.
