MOUNT VERNON — Sue A. Peck, 59, of Mount Vernon, passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29, 2016, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

On May 13, 1957, Sue was born in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Anne Virginia (Locker) Reay. She graduated from Newark High School in the Class of 1975.

Sue married the love of her life and best friend, Robert E. Peck, on Dec. 19, 1980, in Newark. They shared a special bond as husband and wife the last 35 years.

Sue was an avid reader throughout her life, and loved her audio books the last few years as her vision left her. She enjoyed crocheting and made most everyone in the family a blanket. She loved cheering for the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, and listening to Garth Brooks.

Above all, Sue adored time spent with her family. She was a strong, loving woman to everyone she knew.
Sue will be dearly missed by her husband, Bob Peck; son, Bobby Peck; daughter, Andrea Peck, all of Mount Vernon; three sisters, Mary Jo (Paul) Ferrell, Barbara (Tom) Woehrle, Janet (Albert) Stirk, all of Newark; 15 nieces and nephews, Bobbie Jo, Jennifer, Angela, Jeremy, Julie, Annie, Zach, Kyle, Alex, Maddox, Sydney, Hayden, Carter, Chanzler and Makenzie; numerous great nieces and nephews; and her beloved pit bull, Chief.

Sue’s family will greet friends from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. A prayer service will follow at 5 p.m.

Rather than flowers, Sue’s family encourages memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve Sue’s family, and your special memories or condolences may be shared with them by visiting www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
