MOUNT VERNON — Cynthia Harris, with Semper Fi Sisters, is holding a fundraising event to put together care packages for those currently serving in the military.

The fundraising event will be held May 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the Memorial Theater and is open to the public. Harris herself comes from a family of veterans and is a veteran herself who is assembling care packages in honor of four hometown heroes of Knox County who were killed in action.
