MOUNT VERNON — Frank Biffath Sr., 98, of Keyes Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. He was born June 17, 1915, in Richland County, Ohio, to the late Joseph Biffath and Catherine (Schubert) Welsch. Frank retired in 1972 from Chattanooga Glass Factory and in 1969 he created Rustic Knolls Campground near Bangs, Ohio, that the family still owns and operates today. He was a member of the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his children, Leora (Terry) Hoar of Whitehall, Ohio, Charlotte Stewart of Mount Vernon, Frank (Barbara) Biffath Jr. of Mount Vernon and Darrell (Regina) Biffath of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Nora E. Biffath (2001); a grandson, Mark Depolo; two sisters, Mary Hazlett and Kathren Long; and a brother, Joseph Biffath.
Friends may call Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. Rev. Marvin Haught will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
