DANVILLE — The Danville Blue Devils (7-7, 3-2 MBC) needed a big game from The Kat and that’s just what they got.

Pitcher Kat Mickley went the distance, striking out nine batters. She went the distance, scattering seven hits, while not yielding a walk to lead the Blue Devils over the Mansfield Christian Flames, 4-0 in Mid-Buckeye Conference softball on Thursday.

Mickley took control immediately, fanning seven of the first nine batters she faced. For the right-handed ace, who has had an up and down spring, it was one of her best performances of the season and it couldn’t have come a moment too soon for the Blue Devils.
