SPARTA — Intensity may be the key to the season for the Highland Scots baseball team. If that’s the case, they may already have found it.

Pitcher Jett Swetland hurled six strong innings for the Scots, leading them over the Lancaster Golden Gales, 9-4, in a windy nonconference matchup Tuesday. Swetland went 2-for-3 at the plate, driving in three runs. On the mound, Swetland came out throwing strikes, scattering four singles, fanning six batters and holding the Gales scoreless for six innings in his first start of the year.
