MOUNT VERNON — With a long, cold winter that doesn’t seem quite ready to quit, Mount Vernon boys tennis coach Jeff Jarosz starts his ninth season battling Mother Nature to get his players some valuable court time.

The good news for Jarosz is that his team is long on experience, and players have sought out extra work.
