MOUNT VERNON — Establishment and the enforcement of a property maintenance ordinance topped the evening’s discussion when Mount Vernon City Council met for its regular session in council chambers Monday evening.

“I feel we need to get this passed because we need to get someone on board who will oversee this ordinance,” said council member Nancy Vail, who chairs the Planning and Zoning Committee. “We have worked very hard, and there has been adequate time for anyone to address this.”
