MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon City Council’s Street and Public Buildings Committee will begin council’s meeting schedule Monday by walking across Public Square to take a closer look at Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s proposal for a portico on the new hotel that will extend into the street. The university needs an easement from the city to build the portico.
