MOUNT VERNON — New technology in the City Council Chamber will make meetings and visual aids easier to follow while providing viewers at home better audio quality.

Two flat screen televisions were installed that will allow for better viewing of maps, documents or any other pieces information presented to council.

City Engineer Cameron Keaton provided examples of city street projects on the new screens which appear on the east and west walls of council chambers. The new set up allows council members access to the information. Previously, the images were shown on the west wall with the aid of a projector, which made it difficult for about half of council to see.
