Emily Weaver/News Upwards of 60 children — and their parents — participated in Lowe’s Build and Grow program on Saturday. Children were able to work with their parents to build a wooden birdhouse they could take home and decorate or hang outside.

MOUNT VERNON — Around 60 children and their parents came out to Lowe’s Saturday morning to work together to “Build and Grow” in their knowledge of workshop fun. Associate Joe Street said that the store sets up the program once a month to bring children in from grades one through five for the free workshop program./p>
