MOUNT VERNON — An investigation concerning slow mail delivery with the U.S. Postal Service is now being conducted in the Mount Vernon area. Word has been received at the News about local residents, specifically some banking customers at People’s Bank, receiving tax documents in the mail as late as one month later after being mailed. Management personnel at People’s Bank said they have received no complaints from customers but admitted they are aware of mail delivery being slow.

Numerous instances have also been noted at the News about newspapers as well as billing notices being received many days late.
