MOUNT VERNON — Pop culture heroes may perform superhuman feats against overwhelming odds, but their real-world counterparts are ordinary folk who make extraordinary things happen. One such group was honored this morning by the Red Cross of Knox County at the 12th annual Heroes Breakfast at Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene.
