PLAIN CITY — Their family and friends waited outside the locker room for them to make their final trip home for the season.

A season that ended too early for the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets.

The girls basketball team never held the lead in Thursday’s district semifinal game against Columbus Northland. The Vikings took a quick 7-0 lead and never looked back on their way to a 43-38 victory at Jonathan Alder High School.
