MOUNT VERNON — A possible lightning strike at a residence prompted the Mount Vernon Fire Department to respond to 38 Woodlake Trail around 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Homeowners Joe and Carol Goodwin were home at the time when they heard a loud boom and discovered something burning in their fireplace.
