HOWARD — The East Knox Board of Education voted to approve a new five-year contract to superintendent Steve Larcomb, over a year before his current contract expires.

Warren Edstrom voted no on the measure because he wanted to wait until the oversight commission was appointed. Larcomb’s current contract expires July 31, 2015. The new contract will be in effect from Aug. 1, 2015, through July 31, 2020, with no increase base salary.
