WORTHINGTON — The Mount Vernon boys and girls swimming teams qualified for 11 events in the 2014 OHSAA Central District championships with their performances at the Division I Section 3 meet at The Worthington Pool on Saturday.

The boys team led the way with eight qualifying times. Robert Williams and Victor Lowe, the Yellow Jackets leaders all season, each qualified in two individual events. Williams, a junior, won the team’s only victory at Sectionals, taking first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.6. He was also second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.46).
