MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County 9-1-1 Consolidation project turned to Information Technology on Thursday.
Richard Dzik, 9-1-1 director, presented recommendations for vendors for several different IT projects in the consolidation of the county’s 9-1-1 program to the Knox County Commissioners. Those projects ranged from CAD servers to Network Wiring and from Radio Equipment to soundproofing the room and security. The commissioners approved the recommendations of Dzik.
The 11 different projects will cost the county $316,338.10, a little more than Dzik had planned, but he felt it was necessary so they have good equipment that will last well into the future. Combined with the construction, the consolidation of the two dispatch centers will cost approximately $460,000.
