Felix hits for the cycle and homers twice in pair of blowouts for Redbirds

Alesha Felix was a unstoppable for the Loudonville softball team to start the week, homering twice and hitting for the cycle to lead the Redbirds to two lopsided wins over Crestline.

The Loudonville Redbirds faced Crestline in back-to-back games, and came away with a pair of huge victories where they combined to outscore the Bulldogs 43-0.

On April 29, the Redbirds capitalized off a seven run fourth inning to take a 12-0 win over Crestline in front of a home crowd.

Loudonville went up 2-0 in the second inning, and then added three runs in the third and seven runs in the fourth to complete shutout. 

The Redbird offense was on full display with 12 hits, including seven doubles and an Alesha Felix homer.

Felix was 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two runs, two steals and a walk. Jaiden Stitzlein was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, with one of her hits being a double. Olyvia Fenton was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run, an RBI, a walk and a steal. 

Natalee Buzzard pitched a complete five innings, allowing three hits and a walk, while striking out eight.

The Redbirds traveled to Crestline on April 30 and completely dominated in a 31-0 win where Loudonville went off for 25 hits, eight walks and 26 RBIs.

Felix hit for the cycle and had her second homer in as many games, going 5-for-5 with nine RBIs and three runs scored. 

Loudonville scored a pair of runs in the first inning, and then piled on 13 runs in the second inning to put the game out of reach early. They went on to score six runs in the third inning, four runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth. 

Karena Burgess was 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs, five runs and a walk. Payton VanSickle was 5-for-6 with two triples, five runs and four RBIs. Helaina Gray was 4-for-6 with a triple, a run and an RBI. Addison Wolford had three RBIs, and Fenton was 3-for-5 with five runs, two RBIs and a walk.

Stitzlein got the win and went two innings, allowing a hit and striking out three. Felix pitched three innings of relief, allowing two hits and striking out six.
