The Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon, Ohio recently celebrated six local students who were awarded the Russell B. Wise Award.

Each year, the award is presented to a top student at each Knox County high school. Wise was a longtime Kiwanis member who strongly supported high school academic achievement.

Dr. Melanie Timmerman delivered the keynote address and Kathy Kasler, a longtime member, organized the event.
