FREDERICKTOWN – Ann Newton, 86, of Fredericktown, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, at the Knox Community Hospital. She was born on Nov. 14, 1933, in Honaker, Virginia, to the late Earlie and Bessie (Honaker) Combs.
Ann was employed for numerous years at Mazza’s Restaurant. She later became the owner and operator of Anne’s De’Javue Restaurant for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Nora Parsons; her son, William (Deborah) Whaley; her grandson, Jason (Tracy) Whaley; four great-grandchildren, Allison, Trenton, Taylor and Ashley Whaley; her step-grandchildren, Richard (Rachel) Blakesley, Beth Teets and Matthew (Lindsay) Blakesley; six step-great-grandchildren; and her granddaughter-in-law, Beverly Whaley.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her first husband, George Whaley; her second husband, Earl Newton; her grandson, Jamie “Will” Whaley; her sisters, Betty Randall, Mary Alice Gobble and Betty Bates; her brother, Earlie Combs; and her son-in-law, John Parsons.
In keeping with Ann’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private gathering at a later date.
