Downtown Mount Vernon will once again come alive with fall fun, entertainment, and celebration at the 4th Annual Johnny Appleseed Festival, sponsored by The Peoples Bank of Gambier, on Friday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. on East Ohio Avenue in Downtown Mount Vernon. Hosted by Experience Mount Vernon, this free, family-friendly event will honor the legacy of one of Knox County’s most beloved folk heroes, Johnny Appleseed, and feature a variety of activities for all ages.

Experience Mount Vernon is thrilled to announce September First Friday, generously sponsored by The Freedom Center. This community event will be held on Friday, Sept. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., and aims to transform Downtown Mount Vernon into a hub of activity, entertainment, and back-to-school celebrations.

Get ready for a tail-wagging good time as we celebrate the Dog Days of Summer at August First Friday, generously sponsored by Freedom Fire Protection.

Experience Mount Vernon is turning back the clock to the 1980s for June First Friday, sponsored by Sara Mankins. On June 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., the streets of Downtown Mount Vernon will be transformed into a playground, celebrating the decade of the 1980s.
