COLUMBUS — Ellen A. Smith, 57, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at her son’s home in Howard with her family by her side.

She was born May 27, 1956, in Cambridge, to the late Earl and Bernice (Parker) King. Ellen attended the Greater Glory Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed planting flowers, taking pictures, crochet and wood carving. She even attended Tae-Kwon-Do classes in Columbus. Most of all, Ellen enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Earl King of Columbus and Donald (Tammy) Stotts of Howard; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Joey King; her significant other, Terry Neer; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Smith; and four brothers, David King, Herman Green, Eddie Green and Carl King.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, at the Mound View Cemetery, 307 Wooster Road in Mount Vernon, beginning at 2 p.m.
