MOUNT VERNON — Donald T. Keller, 67, of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday morning, April 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at the Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield. He was born Dec. 19, 1946, in Parma to Lois (Roser) Keller of Fredericktown and the late Thomas Keller.
Donald honorably served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam and was a life member of the DAV. He was a retired custodian for the Mount Vernon City Schools. Donald was a faithful member of Saint Luke Catholic Church in Danville and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Lois, Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda (Gee) Keller; son, Roger (Marie) Holland and their children, Andrea and Lucas of Howard; daughter, Stephanie (Zach) Blakely and their children, Elijah and Nathaniel of Mount Vernon; brother, Jim Keller of California; and sister, Carol (Gary) Gray of Lisbon.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, at 11 a.m., at Saint Luke Catholic Church with Rev. Father Victor R. Wesolowski as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
