WESTERVILLE — D. Christian Mickley, 41, of Gentlewind Drive, Westerville, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Ohio Health Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 19, 1973, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Thomas and Dee (Neiderhouser) Mickley.

Christian was a 1991 graduate of Danville High School and a 1995 graduate of Rio Grande University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration. Christian continued his education by earning a Master’s Degree in business administration from Franklin University.

Since Christian was a little boy, it was a goal of his to follow his grandfather in the banking world. He achieved his goal and was currently serving as vice president of commercial underwriting for JP Morgan Chase Bank in Columbus.

As a youngster, Christian was a member of the Boy Scouts and during his senior year of high school he achieved the highest esteemed honor of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity at Rio Grande University where he remained actively involved throughout his life. Among his group of friends he took great pride in being coordinator for skiing, fishing or golfing adventures. His passion was his 1968 Ford Mustang that was the first car he purchased and has been a work in progress for him over the last 16 years.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Jordan (Julie) Mickley of Gambier; a sister, Katie (Bill Stockard) Mickley of Avon; niece and nephew, Madaline Mickley and Joseph Mickley and his paternal grandmother, Martha Mickley of Mount Vernon; and many, many dear friends. The character and integrity of the friends he chose to have in his life only further reflects the high quality of a person Christian was.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Mickley; and maternal grandparents, John and Merry (Griffin) Neiderhouser.

Friends may call Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The service will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at St. Luke Catholic Church, 307 Market St., Danville, OH 43014. Rev. Father Victor Wesolowski will be Celebrant.
