FREDERICKTOWN — Marie Barton, 88, of Fredericktown, died Thursday, March 25, 2014, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. She was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Marengo, to the late George and Minda (Boyd) Keen.

Marie was a LPN for Morrow Manor in Chesterville and retired in 1980. She is a member of the Chester Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, dominoes and playing bingo at the Ohio Eastern Star home with her friends.

Marie is survived by her children, Raymond (Brenda) Barton and Darlene (Dorse) Davis; three grandchildren, Rex Davis, Melody (Dean) Pangborn and Tonya Barton; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Stan (Barb) Keen and Arthur (Juanita) Keen; and a sister-in-law, Viola Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Barton; brothers, Garfield, Walter, Roscoe, Oscoe and Oliver; two sisters, Agnes Fuller and Maxine Keen; and a granddaughter, Kristie Betts.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at noon, at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College St., Fredericktown, with Rev. Charles Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
