MOUNT VERNON — Timothy E. Lahmon, 48, of North Concord Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was born Dec. 28, 1965, in Mount Vernon, to Stanley and Beverly (Armstrong) Lahmon. Tim was a 1984 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and earned his associate’s degree from ATI in Wooster, Ohio. Tim later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from the Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he has been employed in the mail department for the last 15 years.
Tim was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist church but was attending Faith Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. Tim enjoyed the writings of Jeff Shaara, a good John Wayne movie or studying history of any sorts. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and good friend. Tim was a devoted grandfather and savored every minute he spent with his family.
He is survived by his mother; his wife, Wendi (Carpenter) Lahmon whom he married June 28, 2003; his children, Ryan (Kendra) Kelling, Levi (Toni) Kelling, Walt Kelling, Nathanael Kelling, Matthew (Hannah) Kelling, Seth Kelling, Konrod (Jenny) Morris, Debebe (Sara) Kebede, Kwame Appiah and Danil (Veronika) Zakhlebnyy; 15 grandchildren, Katanna, Gideon, Asher, Zimri, Logan, Kaden, Carson, Ava, Madeline, Braylon, Dominic, Marley, Mila, Bilen and Liya; two brothers, Thomas (Bonnie) Lahmon of Mount Vernon and Rev. Charles (Lisa) Lahmon of Fort Hood, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Joe, Jeanna, Anna, Bethany, Chloe and Daniel. He also leaves behind his canine companion, Rudy.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister, Pamela Joy Lahmon.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the Faith Baptist Church, 8764 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Rev. Joe Noonen will be officiating. The family will observe a private graveside service in Hopewell Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Timothy E. Lahmon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tim’s name may be made to the Hookway Multicultural Endowment at the Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
