NEWARK — Mary “Bettee” Davidson, 96, of Newark, passed away March 7, 2014, at Autumn Health Care in Newark.
She was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Newark, to Ostie and Iva (Fowls) Boggs.
Bettee was a member and former deacon for Bladensburg Presbyterian Church. She recently was also a member of Jersey Presbyterian Church in Johnstown. She loved gardening and was one of the former founders of the Bladensburg Garden Club.
Bettee is survived by her daughters, Roxanna Mathias of Lancaster and Diana (Frank) Snell of Johnstown; a son, James (Jackie) Davidson of Corydon, Ind.; seven grandchildren, James Mathias, Susan Collins, Jason Snell, Jessica Snell, Stacey Kracinovich, Christina Davidson and Sean Davidson; along with nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Davidson; a grandson, Jeremy Snell; three sisters; and a brother.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m., at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dallas Dryburgh officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Bladensburg.
