MOUNT VERNON — Marjorie A. (Young) Lee, 86, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at her residence in Mount Vernon. Marjorie was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Springfield, Ohio, to Niles E. and Rosina Young.
She was a retired preschool teacher. She earned her BS degree from Ohio State University in 1949. She was employed as director of the Childhood League Preschool in Columbus from 1950-55; served Drs. Robert and Walter Webb and Dr. Robert Roy as receptionist; served as a preschool teacher in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and served as lead and assistant teacher at Overbrook Preschool and St. Andrew Preschool.
She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and held membership with the Columbus Association for Education of Young Children. Marjorie served as an advocate for Ohio State University at the 2006 World Forum at St. Catherine’s College in Oxford, England, sponsored by the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England and the American Biographical Institute, USA.
Marjorie was listed with Who’s Who in the Midwest.
Surviving are her husband, Attorney William Lee; sons, James Alan (Karin) Lee of Johnstown and David William (Nancy) Lee of Alva, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours of services. Marjorie will be entombed, with her husband, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., at a later date.
