MOUNT VERNON — Raymond Lee Hunter, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Knox County, to the late Raymond J. and Ida (Sesser) Hunter.

Raymond was a 50 year member of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge and a member of the GPAA (Gold Prospectors Association of America). His hobbies included fishing, reading westerns and hanging out in his garage with friends.

He is survived by a son, John W. (Corrin) Hunter of Michigan; daughters, Beth (Keith) Holt of Mount Vernon and Amy Yarman of Howard; six grandchildren, Josh Booth, Haleigh Yarman, Nathan Yarman, Emily Holt, Leslie Hunter, and Ryan Hunter; and a brother, Bruce Hunter.

Raymond was preceded in death by a sister, Marcella Davey; and three brothers, Milton, John and Larry Hunter.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Brandon Cemetery.
