CENTERBURG — Dorothy M. DeCooman, 85, of Centerburg, passed away Feb. 17, 2014, at Centerburg Point Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late George and Sarah (Hieronimus) Jones.

Dorothy was an avid bingo player throughout her life.

She is survived by her five children, Donna Smith and Diane (Don) Davis both of Mount Vernon, Darla Anderson and Dewey A. “Skip” DeCooman Jr. both of Howard, and David DeCooman of New York; eight grandchildren, Jerry (Amanda) Smith, Jeanette (Tosh) Lange, Denise Davis, DeJay (Trina) Davis, Derry Davis, Rachel (Cory) Cox and J.J. (Lindsey) Anderson; along with 12 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey A. DeCooman Sr. and a granddaughter, Dawna Lynn Davis.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
