DANVILLE — Peggy J. Curry, 64, of Danville, passed away Saturday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2014, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, with her children by her side. She was born Feb. 27, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, daughter of the late Ernest Ray and Lucy Marie (Greeson) Starmer Jr.
Peggy enjoyed bingo, solitaire, and conversations with her family and friends. She loved baking and cooking for the family and no one ever went hungry with all the food she would prepare. She never knew a stranger, and always put others first.
Peggy is survived by her children, Marie (Mike) Curry of Mount Vernon, Christina Lynn (Mike) Martin of Mount Vernon, Danney (Christine) Hamilton of Mount Vernon, Dee (Dan) Wilson of Mount Vernon, Melissa “Star” (Nate) Hines of Danville, Timothy (Tricia) Curry of Columbus and Kevia (John Calkins) Curry of Mount Vernon; 15 grandchildren; stepdaughter, Lisa Risko; and a sister, Karen (William) Cowan of Texas. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of identical twin grandchildren and her first great-grandchild.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone involved in our mother’s care.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, Danney Hamilton; her second husband, Kevin Curry; a brother, Louis Starmer; and her companion, Kenneth E. Martin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, at 1 p.m., at Mound View Cemetery.
