MOUNT VERNON — David L. Vernon, 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at his residence. He was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Mount Vernon, to William and Evelyn (Wilson) Vernon.
He was a factory worker at Rolls Royce and had worked there for several years. He was very crafty and enjoyed tinkering with all sorts of gadgets. He loved cars, especially muscle cars and antique cars. His love of music was very clear to all that knew him, as he would always be listening to songs that he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Mossholder) Vernon; two daughters, Tara (Jim Dementry) Howard and Adrian Vernon; grandchildren, Noah, Zachary, Lucy and Penny; a sister, Susie (Larry) Snow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Regina Byall, Lena Bailey and Margaret Thompson; and brothers, Jack Vernon and John Vernon.
The family will observe a memorial service at a later date.
