MOUNT VERNON — C. Neil Johnson, 81, of Eastmoor Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the Knox Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Knox County, to the late Clayton and Lulu (Black) Johnson. Neil was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his two sons, Rick (Bea) Johnson of Mount Vernon and Chuck (Lisa) Johnson of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Bryan Johnson and Bradley Johnson; five stepgrandchildren, Sherrie Adams, Bill Berger, Kenneth Berger, Aaron Berger and Myron Berger.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys (Rine) Johnson.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Marvin Haught will be officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
