FREDERICKTOWN — Phyllis E. Jones, 84, of Shaffer Road, Fredericktown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her home. She was born June 9, 1929, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Floyd and Mae (Tabor) Knapp. Phyllis was formerly employed with the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, and was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church. If she wasn’t enjoying her free time with her children and grandchildren, Phyllis could be found sewing something new or working in her flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Bradley (Janet Detty) Jones of Fredericktown and Michele (Travis) Robison of Fredericktown; four grandchildren, Cody Grubaugh, Taylor Robison, Kara Robison and Jonathan Weidner; and two sisters, Jean Kulka of Mansfield and Ethelee (Bob) Heusinkveld of McAllen, Texas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Jones; a son, Thomas Weidner; two brothers, Alton Knapp and Russell Knapp; and a sister, Vivian Knapp.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Rev. Dr. Gary Campbell will be officiating.
