MOUNT VERNON — Mary Kathryn “Katie” Clark, 81, of Fairway Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Mount Vernon, to the late Clifford and Kathryn (Wiget) Clark. Katie graduated in 1950 from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic High School and was a 1953 graduate of the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing.
Katie was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where she was an active member with the Resurrection Choir and Adult Choir. She enjoyed listening to music, and taking trips with family and friends. Katie always eagerly awaited her annual St. Francis Nursing School reunion with her former classmates.
She is survived by her brother, John (Shirley) Clark of Fort Myers, Fla.; a niece, Karen (Todd) Jackson of Marietta, Ga.; a nephew, Kevin (Angela) Clark of Centerville; great nieces and nephews, Zachary Clark, Taylor Clark, Andrew Jackson, Caitlin Jackson, Lauren Jackson and Emily Jackson; a cousin, Robert (Evelyn) Roseler of Wooster; and good friends, Jim and Dorthy Hughes of Gambier.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Katie’s name may be made to Hospice of Knox County or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
